The Office
The “Office” series is a collection of three art pieces capturing the feeling of high pressure, oppression, and being backed into a corner in a hostile workspace. The visuals trigger claustrophobia, the fear of being trapped, and, experience the helplessness of the harassed. On the other hand, the art pieces also portray the fortitude required to push back for survival — taking up space, making space for a colleague, and, fighting as a team.
All other interpretations are left to the observer.
This project has taken me two long months -- from my office experiences, to ideation, and through numerous iterations. This has been my first attempt at creating art while I let it marinate over a long period. My hypothesis that, giving more time to my ideas and execution phases would lead to much better and polished results, has turned out to be true. I wanted to work on these for even longer but Da Vinci’s quote “Art is never finished, only abandoned” came to my rescue. I’ve now decided to move on to other projects.
